I decide on the Ping 440 driver and fairways yesterday.

Driver Loft is - 10.5

Shaft - real Ventus Red 2025 model.

4 wood - with Ping shaft for now, really like the face on this model and the way it sits.

7 wood - Ping shaft for now.

I started light chipping yesterday, hopefully I can return to the course in a couple of weeks.

Will your swing be the same after the surgery?

Are you starting the testing with those specs and sort of moving from there?

A formal fitting session with 2 driver heads and various shafts may be a bit much IF you are not fully recovered and careful.

Good luck!

I have taken a few swings with my brother’s Ping 440, and it has the sound and feel of a Ping driver. Their clubs don’t seem to fundamentally change as much as some of the other brands.

Qi35 is legit long and forgiving. Great feel and sound. Very consistent for me.

Not a fan of Ping drivers but have played them. Always felt they had too high of a ball flight and the sound never appealed to me.

I like a solid thwack(kinda old school persimmon sound/feel over the tinny metal sound/feel. A more dense feeling is what I get from the Qi35.

Not answering your exact question but I always had a slice on drivers. I picked up a new ping g435 max 10k. It’s a true game changer. Probably much cheaper too

I have the QI35 Max version which is a little larger than the regular Qi35.

I wasn't able to hit it yet, so I can return it.

Had a 430. It’s easy to hit but noticeably shorter than basically every club in the market. Have heard the same about the 440.

Qi35 is a beast.

Tried them both, Ping is good, this TM is kinda weak. Prefer the Qi10

I’ve had a Titleist driver since the 910.
I couldn’t hit the new GT-3.

I got a Qi10 LS of a buddy. Holy crap that thing smokes! The Qi35 is awesome too.

Suggest the titleist GT-2. Ball speed, forgiveness, non-carbon face. Yes I've seen too many taylormade's blow up.

Ventus red pairs up nice.

Depends on where you live. RTJ for example frequently has the club manufactures come and do public fittings, so you get to try them out.

While not either, Callaway Elyte was my choice. Most forgiving driver I’ve ever had in my hands, easy to work the ball either way.

My main gripe with Taylor Made (had Qi10) was the tendency to try to reverse what I was trying to do. Try to fade it tried to straighten it up and vice versa. Kept putting me out of position. So if that or Ping are the only options, take the Ping IMO.

I’ve only hit the core and LS. Ended up with the core heavy weight forward paired with Ventus blue Velo 6x

Depends on your miss, IMO.

I know a few guys who tried the Qi35 and said it was noticeably shorter than predecessor.

I think the Ping 440 is suppose to handle the low face miss.

I was a Taylormade fan boy for years until I tried the Titliest GT2 this year. Before you buy anything, give it a try, the Gt2 and Gt3 are the most played on tour with the Gt2 having the most wins. Gt3 is next, then the Ping. Not saying not to buy the others just that I got fitted into one and picked up 20 yards, I couldn't believe it but the numbers don't lie.

I’ve heard the GT2 is incredible. Actually heard more pros prefer it to the GT3

Funny you say that… I actually ordered a 5 dot Newton shaft back in the spring. Never could get the spin rate down with it. I think the technology is pretty cool though. I heard they just rolled out a different model. Might check that out
