Lay out all the things the Dems want to reopen the government. Line by line.

And then announce that he will give them the $$$ they want for illegals, but the $$$ will come out of Head Start and SNAP.

He'll also agree to extend Obamacare subsidies for 3 years, but only if they agree to codify the DOGE cuts and abolish the Department of Education and USAID.

They'll never accept, but it would absolutely put them on the defensive.

You should go into politics with that line of thinking. Creative.

I'm in agreement he should address the nation as well. Make it an anchor around their necks.

ETA: Regarding USAID - I have a good friend who currently lives in DC and was with USAID for a million years. He's been reassigned to State once USAID came under the chopping block.

He should be on tv at least once per week in font of a monitor showing all the crazy shite progfilth does.

So I agree with you.

Tell the public that democrats want to block 1.5 trillion infusion into this economy because they want to tank the economy before midterms.

Now that the onion peeling has begun on why we are where we are, no one really gives two fricks about this closure besides those living off the government.

And yet….every week….the government continues to steal my money.

Shutdown, my arse.

Those frickers are on delayed-payment vacation.

Anyone with any sense would appreciate that.

The DEMs would do mental gymnastics just to blame Trump and MAGA.

It's almost as if the federal government has practically zero bearing on our lives unless you're among one of the parasite classes: economic or political.

Eh, I think I get where you're coming from but military members and families are caught up in this too. They didn't do this shite and are paid poorly in 2025 standards.
I wouldn't say they/we are "living off the government". We're not the equivalent of those living 100% on welfare.

I assume you're not lumping those 2 types of people together?!

Someone should lay out what the Democrats are asking and give a rebuttal in a clear, concise message - Republicans are typically awful at doing that. Dems say “we want to preserve affordable healthcare”; Republicans say “clean spending bill” - ??? Do they not have PR people?

He is a good president and I suspect he's going to do this next week as we get closer to 11/1 and the SNAPers start to really panic.

His polling is falling according to a right-leaning poll aggregator:

Reuters says 50% of people blame republicans for the shutdown, vs 43% dems: LINK

If he did that he would then have to resend the package back to the house and we would be back to start.

Unless the Senate Dems fold and pass the current VR, that's gonna happen with whatever "deal" is made.

Honestly he should be doing more of this. After heating MTG say that the GOP could trigger the nuclear option to vote to reopen with a simple majority, there's absolutely no reason to do that if the polls are in your favor.

I personally like the government being shut down. Aside from the military, 90% of these motherfrickers don't do anything. If POTUS could somehow line-item fund the military, I'd be just fine if the government never opened up again.
