Tech Bros, looking to build a computer

Just wanted to get an opinion from the tech savy people if this works:

And if not please feel free to correct me on my choices. Thanks!

1. Look at Thermalright coolers. You can get one just as good if not better than the Noctua for $100 less.
2. Why the sound card? Are you an audiophile? On board sound these days is pretty damn good.

I wanted a less noisy fan since the Thermalright one was listed at 26 db while the noctura was lower. As for the sound card, i did noticed a dip in quality in my when I use onboard motherboard. Though keep in mind my MSI mother board is from 2016 but by all accounts, people seem to say there is a sight difference. I won't go crazy with sound, but I guess I want to sound how it does.
I know next to nothing via combability so don't nkow what else I am missing or if my choices were correct.
This is my second build .

I took out the monitor and went with last generation stuff. I dont know why the newer GPU has 16gb vram while this one from the last generation has 24. But 24>16 right?

I can’t help with gaming, even a little, but maybe don’t pay $200 for W11 when it’s $11 on Groupon.
2TB+4TB setup seems a little off and DDR5-6000 seems slow for such an outrageously expensive machine but maybe gaming is about latency more than throughout? Not sure. I’d be wary of RAM that isn’t from micron/samsung/SK.

If I’m not mistaken, doesn’t using all 4 RAM slots with AMD have stability issues/reduce RAM Speed? I seem to remember reading that you’re better off using 2 (larger) sticks of ram as opposed to 4?
Atleast that’s what I read a year ago when I built my workstation with AMD 9950

Absolutely not. I had 64GB with my AM4, and now 128GB in my AM5, all four slots, and zero issues.
Re: sound card, be careful what you wish for. My onboard sound has always been fine, but I was a little bored and got an external X-Fi 4 on discount. That is when I started having popping issues. You'll see it all over reddit with having to revert to MS standard audio drivers, or disable the Creative audio services, or roll back to an earlier Creative driver, or change what ports you're plugged into, or all of the above.
Re: Windows licenses, I just had to buy a 11 Pro license from a French website, and it was $11 or $12 via Groupon, and it activated just fine.
I've owned a Corsair H100i for over a decade. Unless I'm playing a FPS or a Paradox strategy title, it's dead silent. Even at full blast, it's not that noticeable, it's not jet engine like (although I do use the low TDP procs like the 5600X and 9600X, not bleeding edge stuff.)

I have a lot of thoughts, but what, exactly, is your usage case for this machine?

I'd go with an external DAC like the

If you're using nice headphones then pair the above with a headphone amp:

Well this is my latest build. :

It will be for gaming, and file storage, some of the files maybe video in nature, but a lot of interactive PDFs. I am currently sitting on 1,8tb of it and since I want those files close at hand, I figure another 2.2 spaces in a 4 TB drive would do the trick.
The reason why I have 1tb, and 2x4 TB is because I couldn't find a samsung 512 that is not outrageously price.
The 512 , I plan on having that be dedicated to windows OS.
4TB, pure gaming
4 TB, the files storaged and future addional works.
Since the 1tb is relatively cheap compare to the 512 of the same brand I went with that.
Not sure if I should mix and match those NvMe drives from different companies so for now I just have it all the same.
As for the sound card, I choose the one tha ti know give me the sounds I like, the creative. Not sure if modern onboard sound card is comparable to that or not.
Thanks!

“Absolutely not” is a bit too strong. No, it doesn’t inherently slow things down, but if you’re on the edge of what a board/RAM combo is capable of, having more sticks will absolutely reduce stability. In fact, most boards will reflect that when you look at their compatibility charts. With that said, shouldn’t really be an issue at 6000/30.

Fair statement, overclocking has never been worth it for me, but it also isn't 1998.
But if my current board capacity is 256GB, so how is that on the edge? AM4 supported up to 128 I believe. I would believe that if you're packing a board with the latest release of a new capacity of DDR5 with edge pushing CAS levels, maybe.
And it may be important to note, OP, that I have never had problems with RAM because I check the compatibility charts before I buy anything. You need to use the specific model number, too.
ETA, I have DDR5-6400. And OP, if you decide to go with two sticks, remember to put one in slot 1 and the other in slot 3. Do not put them in 1 and 2, or 3 and 4.

I'm not talking about overclocking beyond xmp/expo. If you check those charts you're referencing, the stable xmp/expo figures will be a little worse if you're using four sticks instead of two. Not the end of the world, but it's at least something to be aware of if someone is trying to get the most speed out of their RAM and don't really need to increase capacity.

I guess the way I look at it is, if that's why I suck at gaming, it's the pilot, not the plane ( I know for sure I suck). I admittedly don't get the obsession with pretending much more beyond basics has any impact on gameplay.

Of course. It’s more of an issue of “should I get extra ram I won’t actually use, or would I prefer to have faster speeds/tighter timings instead”. If you need the ram, get the ram. If you don’t, you get a bit more speed as a bonus.
But either way, it’s important that people know this is a thing so they aren’t getting frustrated because they buy two kits and then don’t understand why their system won’t boot at the XMP profile advertised on the boxes.

They probably don't know what that is. I can't compose a literate response as I just got informed my kids were just now boarding a plane back to IAH from LAX 30 seconds ago. Tomorrow's a school day. But. Yeah.

I’ll defer to your thoughts on storage. That’s more personal desire than anything else, as long as you aren’t crunching on a budget. And no, different brands are fine.
1. Any reason you want to go air over water on the cpu cooler?
2. Do you actually have a need for 64gb of RAM?
3. Do you use any applications that prefer Nvidia GPUs over AMD for acceleration?
4. I would want at least a 1kw psu for a new build at this point.

Make sure you update your bios on that motherboard.
I haven’t had a chance to update my original thread on my issues with RMA on my same board and 9950X3D, but just got everything back up and running. Trust me, you don’t want to go through that hassle.
