I think Market Basket in Lake Charles is hard to beat but would like some other opinions...

Wow.. Thats a hard one..
I dont know if you could really say there is one best place.. The boudin link does a great job of listing them all though. This would really be like saying what is the very best restaurant in NOLA.

yes a nice list. But are you going to a damn yankee's opinion on whats the best Boudin ?

I dont agree with all their grades but he has defintily tried more places than I have.. Makes a nice baseline to go by though. I think they have a couple of places rated too high and a couple too low.. And WTF is with the Oregon place?

The list does not have a place east of Breaux Bridge. I like Bourgeois in Thibodaux and you can always get some beef jerky while you are there.

Huh??
They have:
Ronnies
Jerry Lees
Cajun Petes
Catoirs
To be honest GOOD boudin simply doesnt exist (ok does but rarely) east of Breaux Bridge.

Bourgeois is money, especially for the jerky. I haven't tried enough to know the best, but I grew up on Jacob's boudin so it will always be my go-to.

Ville Platte's boudin is the best without a doubt but best stop is the closest thing to it IMHO.

They have great Andouille but the boudin is not very good.
Lol, it's not bad, and it was always convenient. Like I said, I haven't tried enough to really contribute to this thread, but I'll always plug Jacob's when I can!

+1; B&S is my favorite in the state...and it isn't even close.

My vote goes to the Mowata Store in Mowata. It absolutely crushes Best Stop, in my opinion. Second place goes to Poche's in Breaux Bridge.
