Steph wouldn’t have been able to handle the 80’s and 90’s ball.

Guys like Rodman, Oakley, Laimbeer………. would have had him curled up in the fetal position. Not just them, the whole league was tough. I watched some old Bulls videos to reminisce and it got me thinking about how Rodman would have broke Steph mentally very quickly.
And no, this isn't a "modern players bad" post. Truly timeless players like LeBron, Harden, Kawhi, Jokic, Luka, Giannis, Embiid, and SGA would hold their own in that era. They'd take full advantage of the illegal defense rules of the time. Prime Harden would probably average 35 a game in the 80s and 90s.
Just imagine Kawhi with handchecking. The league would be over.

The only thing that would hold Steph Curry back in any era would be finding a coach that would be willing to let him shoot it as much as he would want to
80s coaches and 70s coaches did not like guys putting up 35 footers a lot regardless that the numbers said it was the right thing to do

The 3 point line was a lot closer back then, minus the early 80's. Curry would drop 50 on John Paxon and BJ Armstrong with ease. Game was a lot different. But Curry would destroy everyone with his range.

Yeah folks back then didn’t understand the game. Or math apparently.
If we could pick up current LeBron and place him into the game back then, as a player or coach, they’d think he was a wizard
I’ve never once heard a player talk about MJ’s knowledge of the game and how he could apply it in live action like opponents and teammates have talked about Lebron.

Can it be that there are great players in different eras? The idea of taking a great player in one era and put him in a different era and say “see? He’d dominate so this era was not good” is pure extrapolation for confirmation bias.

He would have found his way onto a nelly team. He would have made him shoot more

quote:this is insulting to some great coaches. Curry is the best shooter the game has ever seen by quite a margin honestly and I’m pretty sure they would recognize that. With deadly post players he might have been more dangerous and actually had an open shot or 2 in his career

How would a perimeter player that dominates in quick release struggle in that time frame?
