I don’t think we have had this discussion on here yet.

I hope the GOP will hold the line.

The GOP won it the day it started ... now, don't underestimate the weak spine of the GOP. With enough time, they can and will frick it up.

If I stay off the news or the Political Board I forget it’s shutdown.

I want to believe the GOP but they have a history of caving. Lets see what happens when the SNAP benefits don't go out.

Trump should use an executive order to reopen the government with zero concessions as the CR was intended. Thus, force the Democrats to file a lawsuit to keep it shut down. That should open the eyes of those who are too blind to see that it's a Democrat shutdown.

I think Trump and team are playing the long game, meaning, I don’t think we will get massive amounts of cuts to the fed work force or spending waste, but I do think we will get some. It will be reasonable cuts and of course the left will take it to SCOTUS. The small cuts will win out, imo, and set a precedent. The SCOTUS will als rule in favor or redistricting. Hopefully that sets the house up for a 15-20 plus pad for the good guys, and we gain another senate seat in 2026. From there, I expect the house to codify some of what Trump has put in place via EO, and hopefully get Scheduled F put in place. Once SF is in place, I think we get further cuts.
