What's does is say about the NFL today and QB talent that one of the cleanest and most well played passing games of the year so far was done by 2 40yr old guys who basically can't move at all anymore.
Putting athletes who can't throw at QB instead of natural passers has been a huge detriment to the league.

The only reason Rodgers and Flacco are still around is b/c they play in an era where if you sneeze near a QB it's 15 yard penalty. If this was 20 years ago they'd look like Vinny Testaverde the year Big Tuna ran him out as the Cowboys starting QB.

I think both of these are true. Neither Rodgers nor Flacco would have lasted this long physically 25 years ago getting cracked by Ray Lewis
But Anthony Richardson was also a top 5 pick and he sucked at every level he ever played. BuT ThE ToOlS

Meanwhile Satchel Paige hadn't even made his MLB debut yet at Scherzers age

There are plenty of pocket passers w/all the tool who busted out hard too.
Ryan Leaf, Brady Quinn, Jim Druckenmiller, JP Losman, Matt Leinart.
Guys either make it or they don't and most don't.

Nuss can't and won't run, put in Van Buren dammit!

seeing Flacco get 10 yards on a read option play at 40 years old when Nuss literally never pulls the ball back and the defenses know he doesn't pull the ball back yet we still run the plays.

As a Panthers fan I will never forget 2007 when John Fox trotted out 44 y/o Vinny Testaverde as his starter after both Jake Delhomme and David Carr got hurt

Yep, refreshing to see competent QB in the NFL play for a change.

Its never been easier to play QB in the NFL.
Thanks College coaches and running simple "athlete" systems which in turn forced the NFL to dumb down the League because the crop they were getting from College couldn't read sophisticated defenses.
Brady is an egomaniac but he's right:

Tom Brady Says the NFL Has 'Dumbed the Game Down' to Help Rookie QBs Play Immediately
Remember when 1st pick Heisman winner from SoCal, coming from a Pro passing system at USC, Carson Palmer, SAT for an entire year to "learn the NFL game"... now QBs don't learn the NFL old Calculus, the NFL gives them Arithmetic to get them on the field.

The best way to win in the NFL is to have a qb on a rookie contract. The qb play in college just needs to be better, and NFL teams need to stop being enamored with “potential” and start drafting guys that can actually play the position.
Mike Leach always said the only skill you can’t teach is accuracy, and NFL teams constantly draft on arm strength and other bullshite when the guy can’t hit the broadside of a barn and spends 3 years in college throwing it to the other team
