I saw him sitting by my shop when I was going to work. I asked him several questions regarding the pelicans. I asked how he feels like the team and he smiled and said Z is in the best shape he's been in. He said the real X factor is Poole and he's gonna be the determining factor on how good we be. I asked him about defense and he laughed and said that they are worried about out scoring ppl and that's the defense they will run. I also asked about the center position and he said he they feel good about Messi and looney. So I guess it sounds like we gonna be shite because ain't not way im betting a season on Poole and DJ with no chemistry or defense scheme. So do what you will with this information

Validates what anyone here says who posts with their head not their hearts. Looks like a 25 win team needing to be dismantled but gave away an unprotected lottery pick for a career bench/rotation guy.

Most lottery picks turn into career bench/rotation guys. You put too much value in a draft pick. Even the number 1 pick from past several years not counting cooper or Victor aren't turn your team around super stars. If we do win 25 games that's probably have us picking between 5-9 anyway. Ask Washington or Charlotte how it works out for them being perennial lottery teams. We made two lottery picks this year and if needed can trade into the lottery next year. If we only made one pick this and one pick next year guess what that's still only 2 lottery picks.

I'm just excited to go down this path again:

"Next year's draft is absolutely loaded, top to bottom"

"Next year's draft has alot of franchise level talent throughout the first round"

"The top 10 players could turn around any team"

"Need to get into the top 5-6 to secure a real impact player"

"Outside of the top 2-3 players, there isn't really a slam dunk pick"

"We should trade back and try to get an extra 1st for next year. That draft is absolutely stacked!"

Ok I'll give you Edwards. But Orlando win 41 games last year for 7th seed in the East and I can argue Paolo isn't their best player.

Jonathan Issac obviously.

Jk

Ok Paolo is good and might turn out to be great. but Orlando still isn't winning anything with him. They won 47 two years ago, 41 last year.

My main point is if you're expecting a lottery pick to turn you into a contender then you will always be disappointed.

Crazy to think that a player would turn the team around immediately. Even Wemby has not done that. It takes some time.

I'm guessing he prefers Franz Wagner

Which isn't a terrible argument. Their raw stats are very similar. They are very much 1A and 1B that can flip from game to game.
