I've watched several videos on YouTube about these small micro-reactors. It's impressive and a great idea, even more so for military bases.

Are we not using something similar to this in our carrier fleet?

Our power grid is a glaring weakness, perhaps where we're the most vulnerable

It's criminal we have done so little with nuclear power over the last decades. We've been using PWR's to power huge aircraft carriers that run at only 15% of their capacity, can produce 500,000,000 Watts of heat with life and refueling cycles of decades. They don't need highly enriched fuel, take up a fraction of the space of solar and wind farms, and are the most reliable power generation capability we have.

Now how about big ones for the rest of us?

I’m thinking the power demands of all these data centers will finally cause the US to wake up and build safe nuclear power plants.

I've been down that same rabbit hole. If you haven't seen the Shawn Ryan Show where he has Isaiah Taylor on, it is worth checking out.

The future is in small connectable nuclear reactors. Thorium is much safer and all around better but for some reason they like uranium and the waste it produces.

There’s a company making tractor trailerable nuclear power generators. One will power a refinery or data center. You can connect 4 or so to power a small city. You can connect as many as you want to meet the demand.

If anyone is interested in some nuclear education, it doesn’t get better than Prof David Ruzic

Given who Janus is in Roman mythology, this could be a sign of good things to come or pretty ominous

All of the Navy's aircraft carriers are nuclear powered. The last non-nuclear carrier was the U.S.S. John F. Kennedy (CV 67).
