Today marks 5,000 days since an NYC area team last won a championship in the 4 major sports. Figured this board would like to mark such an occasion.

Yea, MLS and WNBA have titles since. I respect both but this applies to the 4 majors.

Yea, those aren’t sports.

They are hobbies.

Football, basketball, baseball, and soccer. We are a nation of Mexicans, not Canadians

MLS isn't even the best soccer league on this continent.

Tell me a better hockey league on the planet than the NHL...

When I was in NYC back in 2023 a guy in the subway told me a funny joke.

There are 3 cursed NYC teams and they all rhyme....

Mets
Jets
Nets

In the meantime hopefully they make it to 10,000 days....

1. The Liberty literally won the W last year dummy

2. If I lived in a shithole like New Orleans I’d have the greatest city in the world New York on my mind 24/7 too.

A U16 squad would destroy them

My wife, along with 90% of females, isn’t even aware that the WNBA exists.

No one cares about the WNBA.

Shane Gillis literally proved this in a room full of pro athletes.

National Football League (NFL): ~69,555 (2024)
Major League Baseball (MLB): ~29,361 (2024)
Major League Soccer (MLS): ~23,342 (2024)
National Basketball Association (NBA): ~18,324 (2024)
National Hockey League (NHL): ~17,101 (2023)

I know the South is the last frontier for the game of soccer, but y'all should hop on board soon. It's boomin.

Is MLS even a top 10 league in soccer?

MLB total attendance - 71,348,366 (2024)
NHL total attendance - 22,560,634 (23-24)
NBA total attendance - 22,538,518 (23-24)
NFL total attendance - 18,755,380 (2024)
MLS total attendance - 11,454,205 (2024)

Your per game average may look good, but they only play a handful of games each year. Compare that to football (similar quantity of home games), and you'll see a better comparison is MLS to the Mountain West or AAC, not the NFL.

The 2024 Major League Soccer regular season set a record with an average attendance of approximately 23,240 fans per game

NHL: The average attendance league-wide has slightly increased from 17,443 to 17,448
