What is the difference between Okie ST and LSU

I read an article that says that a particular recruit was supposed to come LSU but ran into clearinghouse problems and ended up at cowboy state u. Does it mean that some of those other schools who think they are academically superior to LSU are full of it?

As I understand it, OK St. was more willing to risk it that the player would not clear. LSU wasn't as desperate to take the chance.

What it means is that Okie St finds a way for the marginal kid to get into their school. This implies to me that they are less academically inclined, as opposed to academically superior. Case in point- Parrish Cox, from Waco's University High School, had committed to LSU a few years ago, but didn't have the grades. In the last few weeks prior to signing day, he committed to a junior college (since I assumed that LSU withdrew their offer) then miraculously signed with OSU on signing day and got in to their school. I’m fairly certain that he didn't have the grades (I live in Waco, so someone close to him told me he didn’t have the grades). OSU is notorious for signing academically deficient kids and getting them into their school. I've seen them sign other marginal academic Texas recruits as well. Don't know how they do it, but they do it.

Don't forget about Phil Loadholt, the Offensive lineman from JC .. He sighed with LSU but could not get in and somehow got into OU right away.

there was a post on here during the Pratt ordeal that said the SEC requires one more class than the Big XII. I think it said the Big XII required two math classes and the SEC required three.

Or maybe because LSU pulled his scholly offer the night before signing day.

The Big 12 conference has easier grade requirements than the SEC. Our boys are at least much smarter though.

I thought the NCAA had the same standards for all incoming freshman regardless of conference. I know its different for JUCO transfers hence the Loadholt saga.
The only thing I can think of on the Pratt issue is maybe the spring semester started later there giving more time for the clearinghouse to work its magic. Is it confirmed he's in class right now?

This is simply not true. The only major conference I'm aware of that has heightened academic standards is the Big Ten [sic]. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

The issue with Loadholt was that one of classes wouldn't transfer correctly at LSU, but would a OU.
It wasn't easier v. harder just where his credits transferred.
