Microtech Gen 3 Combat Troodon. 4th Microtech, might actually carry this one often as the double-action mechanism on this one is much better than my Ultratech. Whatever, just needed an excuse to justify buying it (the military/service personnel discount is pretty good too).

Top one, compared to a mini SOCOM auto, Ultratech S/E, and a LUDT auto.

You need a Stitch now and then start with the Marfiones.

That's what I was looking for when I ordered the Troodon, just none available under the SPP yet. Maybe a Marfione as a retirement gift...

I was looking at getting a gun and the new Benchmade last week but bought a watch instead.

This is what I was looking at.

I ordered a Vosteed Racoon from Amazon off the knife thread and it was missing a bunch a stuff and was in pieces. Almost like someone ordered and robbed the screws, clip and opener and sent it back.

I returned it and started looking at that Benchmade.

Microtech was always a want of mine, bought one and they are meh. I have really been enjoying the last couple of ProTech knives I've bought though.

I have a few micro techs. My favorite might be the Exocet.
Doubles as my on the go wallet.

I have a lot of Benchmade folders, for years I made it a point to buy one from the PX of every military base I've been to so I have enough to fill a shoebox now. I know the Axis lock is now available on other brands and has its share of critics but it's still been one of the best one-handed locks, especially ambidextrous use. SOG came close with their Arc Lock and Cold Steel had a version on their earlier Recons that was good except for bad heat treatment allowed the mechanism to eat itself.

Coming to an outdoor board to post that is like putting a fat kid in a candy store and telling him to not eat.

Bruh I have been trying my best to be good and went months without buying a gun. Hell it may have been a year because of my move to Texas but now that I’ve settled in I’m back to my old whoring ways.

I haven’t bought a knife because I’ve got probably 100 but been getting the itch.

So I don’t have a microtech yet are they that much better than a Benchmade or Sypderco to justify the extra cost?

I haven’t carried anything other than Spyderco in probably over a year. I’ve got two Benchmade griptilian’s that I’ve had for a long time but always reach for the Spyderco.

I’m carrying a native now.

Most microtechs are automatic. You can buy some that are not.

I have an Benchmade Infidel and I’d compare it to the Microtech Ultratech. I have 3 of those. I’d probably choose the infidel between those.

I have a Benchmade Phaeton (OTF) and I like the knife but it’s not comparable to the ultratech. It’s a nice knife but it doesn’t feel as solid as the ultratech.
Also, have another very small Benchmade 4850 that I bought for $100 from Scheel’s earlier this year. It’s a nice knife but also not as sturdy.

In Microtech I have a combat troodon. In OTF knives it’s by far the best I own. Then I have a LUDT that I love and also the Stitch. They’re both automatic. The stitch is big but it feels very good and very solid in the hand. Almost too big to carry it.

I bought my daughter a microtech ultratech for her to carry in her pocket. She carries it everywhere.

I may have a problem as well.

Always amazed those MSRP almost $100 more than a current Combat Troodon. D2 steel in a $500+ knife is not something I'd go for, especially considering that CT I just got was ~$330 shipped.

Yep.

I’ve had mine for a long time now. I only gave $250 for it I think.

Bought that same one and honestly really like it. It's been my edc since I got it. It is rather small and I often forget it's in my pocket but I work in an office setting so don't need much more than that on a daily basis.
