Phil was a pretty stand up guy, just got lazier as time went on. But I think he loved the University, and had alot of support for a long time.
On the Strong issue. It is a shame that a resume like that is passed over, especially this year.
Keep in mind the Kiffin had a freaking NFL HC gig and a major SEC gig in the same freaking year. I dont think this often, but IF strong had blond hair and blue eyes and a famous daddy, would he be ahead of where he is now (which is pretty good)? My answer is definitely.

No question Rocket, he does deserve it. If I were a middle of the pack SEC/ACC or Big 12/Big10 AD and looking for a new HC I would have in my radar for serious consideration. You would be goofy not to. I understand a premier program not wanting to take the chance right now no matter what color a DC or OC is, but for a team like a UT right now, or a Michigan State, Texas Tech, Clemson, or the like, and you're looking for a head coach to guide your team you would have to look at him.

I never thought I'd "back" Urban Meyer and Saban, but damn if they dont operate with class and Lil Kiffin doesnt play like a high school soap opera...it will bite him in the arse soon enough...GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!
