The LSU lakes, you may not catch fish but you can see some nice looking ladies out running.

The lake behind Pennington Biomedical Research facility has some hammers in it. Go at night and use top water. You'll hear em hit.

Eta: best not to get spotted doing it.

Oh, I'm sorry. I assumed he wanted to fish out of a boat.

That's the one downside of having a boat in BR, it's a good drive to anywhere decent so most people opt to drive a little further and fish saltwater instead.

some good bass fishing

Really there isn't a lot of "good" bass fishing in the parish without a boat/Kayak.

If you know someone in Azalea Lakes you can fish there and they have some decent fish. You can actually park at the lot at Lake Iris if you want and pretty much no one will bother you.

The golf courses actually have decent fish, but those are a pain to get onto and you may or may not be harassed/run off by the marshal.

Blackwater in Baker has a good bit of water. I never catch stuff there, but I hear some people do.

Waddell on N. Flannery is run by WLF. They have two ponds, but the fish are pretty small until they stock them. A much better set up if you are taking kids and just want to get them used to fishing.

BREC Soccer park on Burbank is OK, but not what I would call "good." It used to be better, but I think it's over fished now.

Kendalwood Road Park off Hooshootoo. It's a BREC park and you can walk down to Bayou Manchac. It's better fishing from a kayak out there though.

At the end of Hooshootoo (Or Kendalwood) you can try and get through a property to the Amite. Just be careful what property you are on. Some of the people are very friendly and the others will shoot you if you are on their property.

Is Kendalwood open again? It was closed 6-9 months ago when I went.

Yep. It’s reopened. They cleaned out a bunch of the dead trees and junk.
