Yeah and the pompous discussions about wine and how it compliments whatever wild game they are having for dinner.

God forbid someone likes wine

I don’t know anything about wine so perhaps I’m just biased. However the love story component he built in with Katie is a little cringy, the wine dialogue being part of that. It’s been getting worse the last several books.
I also only do audible. Ray Porter is great but maybe having him narrate the female parts also adds to my dislike.

I have done a mix. I really do like Ray Porter
And; my dude, a nicely cooked hunk of rare backstrap with a red wine is perfection

Showing character interactions outside of blowing people up is a bad thing? None of these moments go on too long, and you get a good sense of who they are as people outside of being soldiers.

Yeah digging it too. Love the Vietnam/cold war setting and the fact that’s it’s a bit of a historical fiction book with some real events mixed in

About 300 pages in and I’m enjoying it so far.

I’ve read all of his books, and plan to continue, but is anyone else tired of his plot device where two bad guys, usually Russian, fill in way more details than would occur in a normal conversation? Is it just me? Otherwise I love the books.
