He's currently on pace for 17 missed fgs, which would be the most misses since Chris Bahr who missed 18 in 1980.

FWIW, most everyone there never said they supported Grupe or keeping him, only pointing out the issue with us putting him in position to miss kicks and not scoring TD's - which is correct. both things, in this regard, can be correct - Grupe sucks - our inability to score touchdowns suck.

What FA are you bringing in that's guaranteed to be better?

I would not be opposed to calling up Smyth and letting him kick a game, but wouldn't outright cut Grupe right now. It wouldn't even move the needle in making this team any better and it's not the hind of shake up move that inspires anyone.

The only kickers who've made at equal or worse % have already been cut and they both were cut after the first week.

We don't know that. Kickers suck arse, get cut, then become good in a new place all the time. Not to mention we're a team that sucks in the red zone so a kicker missing one a game is very harmful.

They need to bring in someone to push him or take the job.

Harmful to what?

our chances at a playoff run?

our chances at more than 3 wins?

Young kickers go through ups and downs, They only get to be solid veterans if they are given the chance to work through those ups and downs.

By you own admission the Saints should cut Grupe and let him go become a good kicker somewhere else while the Saints roll the dice on some other terrible kicker that no one wanted.

How about fixing the redzone offense so you get 7 and not have to settle for 3?

They keep talking about how he didn’t miss a field goal all of training camp.

Big difference on pressure between training camp and regular season.

These aren’t even high pressure situations, imagine the choke job that will come with game on the line.

Although he hasn’t directly cost us a game, he has made it more difficult to win. So many seasons a good kicker is the difference between making and missing the playoffs.

He has been bad every regular season so it’s not like an outlier that he sucks under pressure this season, and every game this season

Moore should know he sucks by now and just start being more aggressive and going for it instead giving him opportunities to suck. imO

Grupe is TIED for 33rd in % at 66.7%

Eddy Pineiro is 11/11, coming off the streets.

I get that we've kicked a lot of <40 yard FGs and he's 8/9 which is fine he missed one 30-39 yard, boohoo.

However, you can't be 2/6 from 40+ (0/2 from 40-49 and 2/4 from 50+) that makes it that much harder for this anemic offense

Keep him the rest of the year, but if it keeps up I don't see how you can not consider a replacement next year
