I haven’t seen the movie in a long time, but as stated above, great book too.
It’s interesting that Rumble Fish came out the same year as The Outsiders, both written by S.E. Hinton, both directed by Coppola, both sharing same actors, but the stories and characters are not directly related to each other.

Yeah I liked it better than the Outsiders which I also thought was a good movie.
