We have more talent on offense this year than last year but offense is not good. On defense why much improved, way more dudes but we still struggle with scheming for a running quarterback. These two areas is why most are frustrated!

Our coaches aren’t making enough money. Maybe if we pay them more they will figure it out

I don't know if I'm just negatively remembering this, but every time I feel like we go after a mobile quarterback in the pocket, we fly at them 100 miles an hour and they literally just side step out of the way and take off.

Good coaching would tell the DE's to drop it down to 75mph & don't get behind the QB. Take away the "sidestep" to greener pasture.

Pretty much every team struggles to stop a good running qb who can also throw. That’s why every team wants one. We are having more success this year than last but it certainly seems last weeks plan wasn’t up to par.

It’s impossible to stop a running QB who scrambles out of the pocket AND is a highly competent pocket passer. If you take a guy out of coverage to spy him, you are almost playing a 10 man defense, and he’ll carve you up. If you put him in coverage, and he can’t find an open man, he’ll run. And if you rush him to get to the QB quickly he’ll either hit a hot receiver or find a running lane. If there was an answer folks would have shut down Joe Burrow and Jayden Daniels.

Like we did to shut down Johnny Manziel. Make him stay in the pocket and beat you there. Don't let him scramble and ad lib. That's where these dual threat QBs hurt you the most on passes. As far as straight up run plays, you have to remain disciplined to your lane just like any other option-based offense.
