MLB rule-Losing a Helmet Running

Should the MLB make a rule where if
you lose your helmet running the bases then where ever you end up doesnt count unless you go back and get the helmet? Seems like it is an advantage to the runner to add speed by losing the helmet to get to the base or score the run.

If an outfielder losses his hat while running down a ball, does the out not count and he cannot field the ball until he goes back and puts the hat back on?

If it was a tracked stat, Elly De La Cruz would have smashed the record for helmets lost in a season.

I'm starting to wonder if it is a marketing ploy. He's one of my son's favorite players, largely because 'he runs so fast his helmet can't keep up'.
