Nitric Acid Producers

Looking into defense contractor supply chains as a potential investment strategy. This includes the munition propellants and explosives CL-20 and RDX. Since CL-20 is derived from RDX and RDX relies on concentrated nitric acid, I am looking at Nutrien and CF Industries as potential suppliers.
Anyone in the solid rocket motor business? Do they still use ammonium perchlorate as the oxidizer?

I mean this sounds like a cool idea and a smart investment strategy but it’s probably somebody boring like Dow or Lockheed Martin
Even if there was a cool upstart that only did nitric acid the government would give the contract to somebody boring like Dow or Lockheed Martin

Think how much this nation would heal if every man 18-50 got drafted and sent to the front
I feel like housing would be affordable again and the women would all get into shape and get their tattoos removed. Everyone would all get along after

You might want to restudy history on that one.

Damn we really are going to war with China, aren’t we?

I sure hope not, no one will win a war of that scale. It does appear we have been getting ready for a major global conflict for two or three years now. The Russian-Ukrainian War has shown the World several important lessons that experts have been warning about for over 15-years. Those main lessons are that current munition stockpiles are not sufficient for a protracted war and our supply chains are at risk (should have not taken a genius to figure this out).
As far as a conflict goes, I pray that nothing happens and we are projecting strength and this strength will ensure peace. It far benefits everyone when you can prevent a conflict than actually engage in one. My fears are not an engagement with only China. Although the Asian theater has its own geopolitical tensions (China with Russia, China with India, Russia with China, etc.) it appears these powers have begun developing deeper relations (although not friendly ones). My biggest fear is a conflict with India, Iran, North Korea, Russia and China aligned to challenge the current Western dominated world order. India is the key both strategically and in manpower. Many of their weapons systems are either Russian by design or were collaborative development with Russia and so they depend on Russian supply chains. The key would be if you see China cede their claim to the Galwan Valley to India. If that happens I will really begin to worry.

That is why I was asking for input from others, there is no other real high volume player in this industry, those companies were gobbled-up long ago. I also have concerns that if domestic agricultural exports continue to implode, will the current production just shift from agricultural customers to industrial markets.
Any input from you guys would be most appreciated.

I don’t know, maybe look into a defense/aerospace etf instead of the ammonia supply chain.

I currently hold some contractors, however was looking into tapping into IAAP's, Radford's and L3Harris' supply chains. This route also has the potential to cross multiple industries (agriculture and industrial) which helps offset any risk of a single market.
I am just kicking the idea around.

Not saying no but, it’s hard to imagine a major hot conflict with China, seeing as how our economies are so intertwined.

Very, very true...but the current isolationist policies are slowly unraveling this which completely freaks me out. Saying that, we are still years away from the United States initiating anything, however currently would be China's prime chance even though it would shoot themselves in the economic foot.
