Hey guys....for 60 yrs this has been an EXIT ONLY one -way street, but that comes to an end on Friday. Doc wants to go take a look. Couple questions:

1. Level of pain/discomfort during procedure?

2. Level of pain/discomfort following procedure?

3. Procedure is at 8:00 - - Tee time is 1:30. Am I playing or scratching?

I know you're looking for male perspective, but I had one a few year back for cystitis symptoms. It was uncomfortable and afterward I had some blood from biopsy and general irritation from the scope so I was glad to be near a bathroom in that first 24 hours. Drank a shite ton of water and stayed on top of my NSAID.

I'm going to guess you'll want to skip the tee time but should be good the day after.

It isn't pleasant but I wouldn't say it's painful. I didn't have any effects afterward that I recall not counting the one they did for stent removal.
I think you should be able to make your tee time.

eta. They did a thing where they fill and drain your bladder a few times during one of mine that sucked but it was pretty quick.

It was uncomfortable, but not too bad. It was one of those "damn that was quick" when they got in there with the scope. The doctor was wanting to point things out to me on the screen as I was just wishing he would finish up.

Doctor told me I could be awake for it, and it'd take about 15 minutes, or I could go under. I took the going under.

It was pretty uncomfortable the day of and maybe the day after. I had sex maybe 10 hours after (probably should have waited, like the doc told me). I think as long as you get a little bit of rest, you'll be alright for your tee time.

I've had it. I was awake, rare that my Urologist puts you under for that if its for diagnostic purposes, usually an office outpatient procedure. Used, some topical anesthesia, some discomfort when the scope was inserted, short procedure, fine after. Some put you on a short course of antibotics after.

The two times I've had cystoscopies I was put under (had some procedural stuff done at the same time for each), so can't help you with the pain during part or the tee-time as major activity or driving was out when I was put under.

But as far as after pain goes it isn't that bad. The main issue is when you have to take a piss. You may have some blood the first couple times, and for the first 12-24 hours it'll feel like you are peeing broken glass a bit.

You're right, that doesn't sound bad at all....

I've had a few. They aren't too bad and you can go about your business as soon as it is over. No restrictions on activity.

I had mine in my 20s. It’s gonna be way different for you than it was for me.

Girl that anesthetize me was the most hot thing I had seen in a long time
. And I was on scared inchworm status.

However, I overheard the urologist telling his resident that I was in my 20s and it was gonna be painful. I was gonna scream like a bitch. He was right.

Older men dont experience the pain that younger men do.

Good news is, in here to tell you about it. You’ll be fine.

Thank you for asking. Procedure was not bad...uncomfortable, but I would not call it painful. Doc ruled out any tumor or cancer....but welcomed me to the wonderful world of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) . He put me on Finasteride and scheduled for a sonagram to get measurement. As long as I can tolerate the Feinasteride and am not one of the 3% who have issues with it then all may be good.

I did end up playing golf but was still a bit loopy from the Zanax - - so played like crap.

Again - - thanks for asking
