It doesn’t appear there’s Franchise QB in this draft : Target Skill positions, OL and DL.

Rome wasn’t built in a day and multiple draft years are needed to rebuild this cavernous lack of talent.
Best to trade back at top of the draft… but Loomis is our GM and that’s NOT happening.
No Franchise QB available.
DL are best players available at top of draft right now….
1st rd .. DL
2nd rd … Best Skill Player
3rd rd…… OL
4th ………CB or best skill player
We could have another 4th rd pick if Yiadom doesn’t play again !!!
—This would be realized as an Extra Compensatory Pick.

It’s still fairly early in the season, there are a few prospects that have been solid…….but there is PLENTY of time for draft boards to change.
You still need to see what you have in Shough so you can properly evaluate if you need a QB next yr

Let's wait and see about Qb. Right now there doesn't appear to be one, but things can change quickly. I agree with the premise though.

I don’t disagree with your assessment. But a lot of mocks have us taking Fernando Mendoza or LaNorris Sellers.
A lot also have us taking Francis Mauigoa, the OT out of Miami. Not sure how I’d feel taking an OT in the 1st round three years in a row and 4 out of 5 years.

Problem is… Saints don’t need an OT but a Guard…. a Mauling Right Guard !
I know you are just relaying what some Draft-Ologists are writing in the mock drafts posted.
We all read them. :)
I’m not sure if the player you note is better projected at OG in the NFL …
BUT….. an OG with a top 5 pick just doesn’t happen regularly… if at all.
Again…. the 2 Clemson players (DT and DE) were the 2 highest DL rated at one time.
I also believe Penn State is suppose to have a highly rated DL.

Unless Loomis likes seeing the Saints fail, this season/draft in particular, we should trade down. We need so much help at different positions and no real star player out there, especially QB, that justifies a Top 3 pick.

I think we end up with the 4th - 8th pick somewhere just because of how easy our schedule is
If there is not a Qb there we like (seems likely?), I like the idea of taking Rueben Bain from Miami. Dude is absolutely disgusting.

Hoping there’s a number 1 WR waiting for us.
1st round BPA hopefully either Dline, a #1 WR or CB. Wouldn’t object to Caleb Downs either.

I can name three, I had zero doubt would be franchise qbs out of college.
Peyton manning, Andrew luck and Burrow. Daniels had some question marks going into his senior year, b/c he was scared to push the ball downfield. Once he got over that, he was up there with the other three, but maybe a tier below.

I’d like for us to make a splash in FA also. Go get the best guard available. And maybe a decent CB. But yea, need a good draft.

Looking at the draft and our roster going forward
1st Rd: We desperately need an elite DL, that can be DE or DT. Breese has been good but hes bad vs the run. Granderson has been good, Young hurt, and need to replace Cam.
I don’t think we go QB because we simply aren’t a QB away from winning and I don’t see an elite QB in college right now.
2nd rd: WR if we go DL in the first. I also think depending on who’s available you go defensive difference maker at LB to replace Demario or Corner. Guard could be tempting but I think Ruiz gets another year due to his bad contract.
3rd: Defensive starter at LB or DB ideally,
Ideally Penning works out at guard. We’ve got Kamara and Olave for one more year. We spent some draft capital on Vele and Polk so need them to step up at WR. We need to replace Demario and Cam both positional and leaders.
