Every single facet of the offense is broken

See a lot of posts about who and what’s to blame.
Some blame Sloan and are still saying Nuss isn’t the problem
Some are blaming Nuss and saying Sloan isn’t the problem
One guy yesterday said all the issues are because of Frank Wilson
But the fact is. Not 1 single thing on the offense works from players to coaches.
Sloan is a terrible play caller
Nuss is a terrible QB
WRs dropping passes and not getting open, some of that goes back to Hamilton
RBs not reading the right holes and not breaking tackles and missing blocks, some of that goes back to Wilson
O line is garbage and so is Brad Davis’ coaching.
And all of it goes back to BK
The offense is broken in so many places it is just not conceivable that improvement can be made in season.

It all starts with the offensive line

And it has been very offensive.

There is plenty of blame to go around. From Davis to Sloan to Kelly. Blaming a single person is not a good outcome of any attempted root cause analysis. Regarding Nuss, it’s just not there. Yeah, he may still not be 100% but then don’t play him. I don’t see any progress in the offensive approach, coaching or personnel. It’s almost too late into the season. Some few adjustments and we can possible come out with a 9-3 season.

Fine. I won’t argue that. But it sure as shite doesn’t and there.

IMHO the RB's have seen enough in practice and now actual gametime to not trust the OL to do their jobs effectively. Sometimes if the RB was patient, the hole developed but they had already bounced it elsewhere. Yesterday was just abysmal, OM was creating pressure with a 3-man front.
I've said all season that the offense is bad because there are so many times that we have multiple WR's in the same line-of-sight and they look confused as to if the ball is coming their way or to the other WR. That's part of what happened on that Nuss interception.
Our RB's also seem to lack vision. They just slam into a pile when if they bounced it outside, it could result in more yards. For a team with as bad of OL p[lay as we have, I have no idea why every run is up the middle. We aren't able to push ANY team around and create holes consistently.

I think you it the nail on the head when you summed it up with it all begins with Kelly. The buck must stop with the leader.

Bottom line is if your OL is weak you better have a QB who is willing to run.

Brilliant! Splain please. So if Nuss is a terrible QB how do you know Sloans plays are not good just poorly executed by Nuss? After watching Nuss's total ineptness yesterday I don't think anyone anywhere thinks Nuss didn't suck yesterday. Conclusion...... Nuss was allowed to stay in too long and it's BK's fault.

Agree. That’s why we should have given MVB a series or 2 to at least see if he could get Ole Miss away from what was working for them.

If you saw the playcall for the 2 pt conversion attempt, there is no way, as a reasonable person, you can even remotely defend Sloan.
And again, you proving the whole point of my original post.
Nuss being a bad QB and Sloan being a bad OC are not mutually exclusive. In fact they are additive and that combination, along with all the other things I mentioned are why this offense can’t be fixed.

This. There's no fixing how systematically broken this offense is. Can it get better? Well, it has nowhere to go but up. Anyone thinking they will "fix" the offense though is on some serious cope.
Very likely LSU doesn't make the playoffs this season. I'd love to be proven wrong but I don't see how they can fix things like the run game because you'd need to start looking at things like blocking schemes. You can't just drop dead what you've been doing in the middle of the season. This offense is broken and it's not ever going to be "good enough" this year.
Beyond this year you should be very worried how bad LSU will be next year because I doubt anyone is willing to give donations after seeing these results with the paid roster they have now. Busts everywhere from the portal on offense. Good luck to BK the politician selling to donors fork up another 20-30 million. I guess he's just going to have to donate his 10 million a year if he wants a championship team.

quote:football retards. the only way Sloan isn't the #1 problem is if BK is controlling the offense. Sloan is not qualified to be OC at LSU. that's not debatable at all.
Some are blaming Nuss and saying Sloan isn’t the problem
has any qb coach at LSU jumped straight to OC and succeeded?

Many teams have less than perfect Offensive Linemen, but the QB has to make adjustments for the Offense to be successful. I know this is a pro team but Joe Burrow has never had a OL at Cincinnati Bengals, yet he developed strengths of quick reads, and releases, stayed in pocket until he could either run for yards or left the pocket and found a receiver on the run. Our QB doesn’t have that quickness, critical thinking nor ability to make ANY positive adjustments and refuses to run. His callousness in his playing and how he never seems to have any emotion for what he just left on the failed drive he caused. No anger, no frustration, never on sidelines looking for answers with the coaches in headphones. Burrow was always conferred with His coaches during game on what he could do better or what he missed or anything. No emotion ?? in his demeanor which relates to it is what it is not my fault.

So one poorly executed play supposed to prove your point? You have no proof that Sloans plays were bad. What we do know is that Nuss yesterday proved he doesn't deserve or has earned being our starter at QB.

Jesus Christ!
You honestly don’t think Sloan is part of the problem do you.
If you don’t have a problem with the 2 point play, how about the fact that running backs got a total of 2 whole carries in the first half. Against a defense that gave up over 200 yards to Arkansas.
How about a year and half now of no offensive adjustment s or rhythms.
If you don’t think Sloan is part of the problem by now, good for you. Nothing will convince you.

He also schemes plays in that were from JD's playbook for a QB who doesn't run lol.

Really if Sloan was worth anything at all, he would have noted that Ole Miss was only rushing 3 and dropping 8 and called at least 1 QB draw to see if we could catch them napping and force them to do something else.
But he didn’t. Kept calling the same plays that players can’t execute.

Yep. All of our problems come down to coaching. All of them. And the HC shoulders the blame and failures of a team. A true leader takes responsibility for failure and lifts up those around him. Kelly is a pathetic excuse for a leader.
Kelly can’t motivate and Sloan can’t adjust.
A good coordinator adjusts their scheme to the strengths of their players.
A good HC holds players and coaches accountable and motivates his team, but ultimately understands the team is his responsibility. Brian Kelly doesn’t seem to understand this at all. I don’t think the guy could motivate and lead a fast food line much less a top level collegiate football program
