Ohio State 2002. They were not spectacular, but they got the job done and won the whole thing. LSU's schedule is much tougher than OSU 2002, but I feel the same vibe.

Lets kick Ole Piss arse this weekend!!!!

That Ohio St. team had a damn strong running game. And that was a huge reason why they were good enough to beat anyone.

This LSU team doesn’t have that.

I mean I guess you could say Caden Durham is the Maurice Clarett comp?

Didn’t they also have that crazy LBer who took like 1 cooking class to maintain eligibility? Andy Katzenmoyer* I believe was his name, and on that team.

They also didn’t have a Nussmeier or stud WRs.

So quick to shite on a team

How the f—k do you get that from my post? By pointing out an obvious difference between this LSU team and a team that won a national championship?

The LSU team of 1970. They were great on defense, but they struggled on offense against quality teams.

The 1908 team won it all and their schedule was easier than ours now!

I think it’s mainly the fact that the 02 Ohio St team had many games where they didn’t score a lot of points at all and still won behind a great defense just the way this LSU team has been doing. Yes that 02 Ohio State team might’ve had a good running game, but they were nothing special offensively as a whole. Craig Krenzel was as perfect of an example of a “game managing QB” as I’ve ever seen. Wasn’t bad nor was he anywhere close to great, but just good enough.

The lack of RUNNING THE BALL will stop this team from moving to higher grounds.....

Not exactly. Nuss is a much better QB than Craig Krenzel and Clarett with their OL is much better than anything we have. Defensively, the teams are much more similar, however, college football is much different now. You have to score to win in today's game.

2006 LSU to some extent

Talented QB and WR group

06 didn’t run all that well early on either (later in the year it was better when we settled on a Keiland/ Hester combo mainly).

Rebuilt OL (Whit, Niswanger and Livings all went on to the NFL after 05).

Top flight defense

Biggest difference thus far is the passing game hasn’t lit it up early like JR and company did. Outside of the Auburn loss, that squad put up some points the first month or so of the season.
