Wife and I have taken a couple trips to Asheville and it was become an every 5 year vacation for the 2 of us. Our last trip was supposed to be the year the flood hit. Obviously, we didn't make it. It's been a couple years, has anyone been recently? Have they recovered or is there still a lot of rebuilding goin on?

For the most part. The city is on high ground and is back to normal. Biltmore Village was flooded and was all boarded up early this summer when I was there. Some of the areas that were on the river banks are still in ruins.

We went in May and had a great time. Plenty of live music, food, shopping, hiking close by, Biltmore etc.....its has it all.

Yes. We were there last December, and most restaurants and pubs were open, and the Biltmore Mansion was fabulous.

My family went for Labor Day and Blue Ridge Parkway Section near Asheville just opened up. Restaurants were open for business.
