No it isn't. I shoot a 125 grain Nosler Ballistic tip that I've caught in deer just under the skin before because they hit bone. Very fast lightweight bullets out of 30-06 can decellerate rapidly when they hit bone.

Heavier bullets aren't as likely to, but it does happen.

Well G.I. Jane, I’m very familiar with the grain and load of a .308 and know it would’ve blown a hole out of the back of CK’s neck at least the size of a silver dollar. And I also know a 30-06 is a much bigger load. Just because you shot your daddy’s deer rifle a few times doesn’t mean you know shite about the destruction a .30 caliber round will do to a human body, neck in particular. This isn’t call of duty kiddo.

Congratulations to your 275 deployments to Qatar, Kuwait, and Guam. What’s sad about all 2000 of your downrange excursions, you still don’t know what damage a 30 cal round will do. Maybe I didn’t deploy “25 times”, nor did I go to the moon. But yes I experienced above average combat in the Middle East and more than a handful of firefights with a large SWAT team. Particularly one where our sniper (not me) shot a man who stuck his head out of a second story window with a sub-sonic .308 round. A direct hit to the neck that blew a large hole through the back of his head. A little different due to that particular circumstance being at an upward trajectory, but someone simple like you can get the point.

For real if you really did deploy 25 times, no matter where or what you did that’s pretty serious. So no disrespect.

With that experience you should know bullets can do some unpredictable stuff once they hit physical resistance. Caliber means nothing sometimes.
