Hope this is true. The H1B issue has gotten out of hand. My mom just got laid off from Citi after nearly 30 years of service there.
My mom has been there since the 90s and said she can't remember the last time a non Indian was hired. The only non Indians in the entire campus were those who had been there at least 15 years.
This is the Irving, TX campus. The area has been completely taken over by Indians.

Good
India is Americas greatest threat
They could send a billion people to every country in the world and still have more than a billion people

New Republicans are vehemently anti-H1B. After Trump I can see republicans doing that

I play cards in Las Colinas and it is over run with Indians.

This could really stop the egregious violations.
It's non refundable, so this really should clamp down on the multi application and the fake immigration anchor baby applications.

The stereotype of them not taking baths is so true! My god, it's ridiculous sometimes the body odor I smell from them.

Vance going to be handing out H1Bs like they are lollipops.

RogerInTheCuckChair and LSU Ukranian won't like this at all.

Best news I've heard all week.

A very high fee seems like the way to go because if someone is truly exceptional and potentially irreplaceable, the company will have no problem paying it

Every job I have had in the past 8 years or so has followed the same cycle
I get brought in to completely overhaul the existing department from the ground up because offshore/H1B talent ruined the code base, data pipelines, etc.
I work my arse overhauling the department and getting it up to a respectable level, even winning employee of the quarter awards and getting to shake the CEO's hand
Corporate leadership realizes that I have implemented so many quality processes and routines that there is no need to pay me anymore since they think it can just run on auto pilot
I get laid off and replaced with an H1B or offshored worker who has no clue and completely destroys everything I had built
Company that laid me off realizes a few months later they made a huge mistake and calls me trying to get me to come back, but I tell them to frick off because I've already started a new job and back to Step 1 of the process

At least in my mom's case at Citi the main culprit was EAD visas (work visas for the spouse of an H1B). Which is just as bad.

My former company did this.
Laid off all of the incumbent IT workers and replaced them with Indians.
A few of them were great. The majority of them, though, were solid with the basics, but couldn't help anyone with a unique issue to save their lives. Not to mention, they stunk like shite (absolutely nobody wanted to go to the IT floor because of the smell), were extremely inconsiderate etiquette-wise, and spoke little to no English.

Accurate and the stereotype about them all being super smart computer geniuses is NOT true
Actually talented Indians don't need to game the system, they will get scooped up by large FAANG companies
The 99.9% of the rest have to scam, lie, and cheat their way to their American jobs. Fake resumes, fake credentials, fake degrees, all ushered along by their H1B body shop who facilitates the scam. And they get their jobs from green card managers on the take who receive bribes/kickbacks to place these unqualified candidates.
A couple jobs ago our H1B data engineering team was so incompetent it was sad. It was nothing but excuses, stall tactics and delays from them. Month after month every request we made and every error we pointed out was met with all kinds of BS excuses. Turns out that none of them had any data engineering experience and played the long con and were protected by their green card managers and directors. The company cleaned house but learned absolutely nothing because they were replaced with an offshore Indian data engineering team who was just as bad.
