The death of Charlie Kirk will be looked at the same way the Manson murders are today

For those who don’t know, there was already a growing weariness of the “peace and love” of the 60s by the end of the decade, but nothing outrageous had occurred yet. Then August of 1969 “the family” a group of hippie cultists led by Charles Manson, an insane leftist, butchered in cold blood 9 innocent Americans just living their life. This was the final straw for the American people and Richard Nixon won the 1972 presidential election by the biggest landslide in united states history. We will remember this moment in a similar vein.

I’ve always wondered what killed the hippie movement so suddenly. Was that really it?

We know, thanks to Tom O'Neil, that the Manson murders were perpetrated by the CIA under MK Ultra, and that Charles Manson was groomed by Jolly West to indoctrinate and manipulate his followers to murder with the intent of sabotaging the hippie movement.

I honestly believe that over time Charlie's assassination will rival MLK's.
Only one of them was genuinely a good family man.
Only one of them was genuinely a good family man.

The Hells Angels killing a guy while doing security for the Stones at Altamont in Dec 69 was a sign the Summer of Love was over

quote:agreed, but it’s also because at the time the CIA was not as compromised as it is today and we’re still wanting to purge communists from society, and wanted the hippie movement dead.

Knowing what we know about MLK and his many faults and deeds it should far exceed MLKs. Charlie was a much bigger loss of faith, country and character.

I think this is a good comparison.

Only one of them was genuinely a good family man.
Doesn't mean they won't try.
I'm certain there will some of the 'he wasn't always like Christ, he yelled at me once after I ran over his toe with my bike' stuff. He was crazy mad.

Yes, but that POS definitely deserved it.
Great book on that btw. "Blown Away" by A.E. Hatchner.
