Look out for Kelly bashing us for asking this question. Let’s see 95 total yards with 51 on one play. Ranked 179th last year and heading that way this year. Why can’t he just acknowledge this and offer some insights as to what the problem is? We are getting manhandled with this scheme. A scheme that has Kelly’s thumb all over it . A 3 yard and cloud of dust BiG 10 rushing scheme. We apparently don,t have the personnel to run it - let’s try something different more off tackle- more run sweeps to spread things out ? Thanks for the Defense Coach - great Job ! Quit being so sensitive on folks questioning our lack of a rushing game.

Nothing, we just don’t have a very creative running game.

When BK was at notre dame his best teams had mobile QBs. He had success with Daniels. I think his scheme doesn’t work with a pocket passer like nuss

I'm ready to go back to the I formation maybe with Jackson as the FB on occasion. I'm totally tired of LSU running what they call an RPO offense without a running qb. it simply does not work. At this point, introducing something a bit different along with our RPO offense, might be at least a bit confusing. It sure can't work any worse than our present product.

Its 11 on 10 when your qb is zero threat to run. We do have a fair amount of success with the play action however. But if its third and long everyone knows you're throwing.

Well that being said he should have told Nuss to transfer and went after mateer or castellanos. He was just hoping Nuss would fit better this year?

You dance with the one you brung. He has to plow with the mules he brought in and a mobile QB is not in the mix and is an obvious drawback to the running game. The hype of Nuss does not match the actual output.
He did not spend all those years in coaching not to see what he has and how to use the tools to win games. That is what he is doing.

Last seasons offensive line was horrible run blocking. This season the offensive line is horrible run blocking. If we lost pretty much the entire line and still suck at blocking the run there is still only one common denominator. I’m not talking about the head coach.

I’d like to see more “long handoff” type rollouts with Nuss

Nuss has naked pictures of somebody. It’s just inexplicable.

Like they are actually saying he’s the heisman front runner right now.

According to ESPN his is fricking 37th in qbr. It’s the most bizarre thing.

BK better get a thicker skin. He’s paid too much to trot out this ineffective run game and you damn right he’s gonna get asked about it.

LSU is 97th in rushing and 95th in offense. So as a HC making 10 million a year and who has not had a team yet at LSU that has not had a team that plays both good offense and defense in the same season yet, yea he has to answer the tough questions without acting like a self absorbed, petulant child,
egotistical jerk. And he doesn’t need to remind us after every conference game “this is the SEC and both teams are battling” we know. We have been here a lot longer that him. And I want to see a reporter not back down and say, yea we saw the great run at the end of the game that without it the yards per carry would be 2,6.

We’re 116 in rushing offense including the great run at the end of the game, so I’d say OP’s question is fair game.

Wild not to have this figured out considering we’ve gotten next to nothing out of RBs since CEH in 2019 & flashes of Durham doing a lot of making something out of nothing on his own last year.

They don’t finish and let people cross their face way too often. That’s oline coaching and honestly very basic too.
