December 3, 1989 (Regular season): Earlier in that same 1989 season, the New Orleans Saints handed the 49ers one of their three losses, beating them 21–17 in the Superdome.
This loss to the Saints demonstrates that Montana was not undefeated at the Superdome over his career, despite his incredible postseason performance there.

Oct 8, 1989 the 49ers beat the Saints in the Superdome 24-20.
