How are people on the left so far gone?

I made the mistake last night of logging into Facebook for the first time in probably 6 years. I was stunned at what I was reading. Just foul post after foul post from people that I know and were once a big part of my life. A lot of these people grew up with privilege I definitely never had. Private school college nice neighborhoods. I just don't understand it and it makes me sad and I didn't even watch Kirk really. I don't know

Yea man, my own brother in law (black guy) is on a tear right now - we’ve been tight for 16 years and he’s on Facebook talking about how ANYONE who likes Kirk and/or Trump is a complete racist

Pretty much all them are posting quotes from Kirk that are incomplete and taken out of context. One of the most concerning things about people, but especially leftist, is how fast that make a hard conclusion about someone or something based on a picture or quote on social media and none of them take two minutes to see if the quote is even accurate.

They live by the belief that the Ends Justify the Means and they don’t believe in a higher power than the government.
It’s a bad combo which makes them unaccountable.
If they don’t like a person’s beliefs, they cancel them and in extreme situations like Charlie Kirk, they kill them because they believe they’re doing good by killing because the ends (silencing a voice) justifies the means (killing)

Every person on FB that does this, I call them out, regardless of political affiliation. I tell them I'm sick of all the ads and tell everyone I care to follow, that for the sake of friendships and family relations, they stopped posting messages of hate and anger and that they should stop posting those type of messages on FB, and go to BlueSky or X or Instagram or Reddit, and to leave Mee-Maw and Paw-Paw alone to check on old friends and their grandkids.
