I haven’t started getting quotes yet but how much can I expect for a year for insurance on a new construction valued at $425000?

I’m in Washington Parish so I would imagine it’s cheaper right?

Probably but don’t be surprised when the quote is low but every year it goes up 50%

I recently closed on a new construction loan. I figured insurance was paid by the builder until completion. I am usually on top of everything, but I dropped the ball miserably. I have insurance now but its expensive.

I think the $4000 ballpark for you is close.

You can find something around $2000/year. Far enough north to where you’ll have some solid options.

So far I have 3 quotes from 1100, 1300, and 2200 a year. I’m still waiting to hear back from progressive who I have all of my other insurance with.

The 1100 and 1300 have huge deductibles though for wind and hale.
