Lafayette Baws Nostalgia Thread— Times of Acadiana

There used to be a weekly newspaper in Lafayette in tabloid format.
It was free, and you could pick it up everywhere. You’d always see copies strewn around the hot tub at Reds. There were also a few copies next to the locker a guy sold steroids out of.
I think there was one before the Times, but I can’t remember the name.
Any of you Acadiana muscleheads remember?

Times of Acadiana and The Independent.
They were mostly advertorials for local businesses and had one big news story and some headlines.
The times got bought out by Gannet and became strictly "lifestye" based
They were generally non biased except for Leslie Turk, she was Lafayette's lone leftist commentator and did in the form of "investigation " pieces. She basically ripped on every local Republican (sometimes they deserved it) except Mayor Durel who was moderate.

There is a free monthly magazine in New Iberia called Acadiana Lifestyle.
I have an article on a football coach in the current issue.
