Non-Conference Scheduling

This has been beat to death I know. I understand, particularly in football, the players need a cupcake or two on the schedule.
What I do not understand is-----scheduling a cupcake that is so bad, no regular person has even heard of the school?
I remember a few years ago we played "Towson" in football. The only reason I knew where Towson was is because that is where Elaine Benes is from in Seinfeld. No idea they had a university----never even seen them in the basketball tournament.
It has happened a few more times in football.
The baseball scheduled that was just released-----I understand the days of us going on an early season roadtrip to Long Beach State or Cal State Fullerton are over. I really do like both the Darthmouth/Northeastern thing and playing Notre Dame in a regional-like tourney in March. BUT "Milwaukee" and "Sacremento State"??? I have never heard of either of them and I am 47. Of course I have heard of the cities-----I have been to Milwaukee before. Why not just play Wisconsin? I realize we need to host some northern schools at the beginning of the year, but can we just play actual schools instead of ones nobody has heard of before?
I still think you can schedule cupcakes in all sports. I just do not understand the logic of playing schools nobody ever knew existed before.

University of Wisconsin does not have a baseball team.

If you have never heard of Milwaukee or Sacremento State then you don't know ball
"Why not just play Wisconsin?"
Doesn't even have a baseball program. Point proven.

If you haven't heard of Milwaukee and Sac St I guess you haven't heard of Daulton Varsho and Wewiha Aloy.
And I'm not sure why we should consider you scheduling advice when you advocate for us to schedule a team that doesn't exist.

Yes, Gerry, it is. Actually, it's pronounced "mill-e-wah-que" which is Algonquin for "the good land."

I just want you to know that the downvotes in which you are about to receive are absolutely warranted.
