Anyone here ever undergo hyperbaric oxygen therapy for slow healing wounds? I just did my first session yesterday supposed to go everyday, 5 days a week for at least a month for these treatments that last an hour and a half. Just wondering if anybody has had any stories, good or bad about hbot therapy

My father did in the late 90’s for a diabetic wound. I can’t tell you if it would have worked or not because he wouldn’t take care of himself to give it a chance.

My mother did this earlier this year for 6 weeks for a diabetic-related wound. It worked really well and sped up the healing process.

Like any other advanced modality.

See your local specialist for treatment. If you're a candidate they'll get the authorization from your insurance.

They'll most likely try standard wound treatment in order to obtain the clinical justification, unless you're an OT baller and just want to cut a check.

Have seen 2 surgeons and a wound care specialist. So they wrote a prior authorization request for the hyperbaric treatment and surprisingly United Healthcare approved it. It was either HBOT or go under the knife for a 3rd time.
