The season is still early, and as fans, we have a tendency to blow every game out of proportion.

I would argue that this team played its A game against Clemson, and yeah, a very uninspired game against Tech. We're probably somewhere in the middle, but we'll find out against Florida.

Some of "we" panic more quickly than others of "we."

LSU had A LOT of self inflicted mistakes that made the game seem a lot closer than it was. For example on the first possession if Nuss doesn't make a mistake underthrowing Brown on the deep route, that's a TD and not an interception. On the second position if LSU doesn't self destruct with stupid penalties, that probably leads to a TD and not a missed filed goal.

This Team's biggest issue right now is being without Braelin Moore. I don't think people realize that this run game flows through him. There's a reason we were the 9th best rushing team in the SEC last year. ZERO push up the middle. That will not change if Chester is Center

I don’t think we played our A game against Clemson on offense. Defensively, absolutely. But there’s more in the tank for this offense, especially with braelin Moore active.

Clemson was a good game. Our offense is what has the fans in a tizzy. Need to start putting up some big numbers

The talent on offense is there, just not quite clicking yet.

Was one of those self inflicted mistakes not being able to run the ball or score a TD on first and goal from the 2? Asking for a friend.

Game plan was very vanilla. As was the effort. Looked like we were wanting to try a few new things but it went to shite after Moore's injury. Saturday night will tell us a lot. Defense will keep us in every game. Let's see what happens.

In the moment, it was very frustrating to watch the offense stink it up because I was just so excited to finally get to watch them in person and against a team that I assumed we would be able to put up 50+ on. Looking at it now, it's a bit concerning that the running game was putrid and that our red zone offense flashed signs of 2024's struggles, but the LA Tech game holds significantly less weight for me than what I saw against Clemson, where the offense moved the ball effectively all game against a top 10 defense on the road. This was a weird, sleepy week of college football.

I would expect we bring our A game at home vs an SEC opponent, but we aren’t as good without Braelin Moore.

Once he’s back, the expectation is what we looked like against Clemson

People gloss over the fact that la tech is a very good defensive team. They were #26 in the country last year. LSU offensive woes were more about LSU saturday but it was still a stout defense they were going against. If Nuss is accurate and the receivers catch some of those balls they whiffed on it would be a completely different game. Moore being out didn't help but the focus just wasn't there.

Yeah. No excuse, and gotta clean it up, but just off the top of my head we had

1. Nuss underthrow that was 6.

2. Kyle Parker dropping TD.

3. Stamps pick 6.

This game was 3 plays away from being 41-0.

Tech, on the other hand, didn't really "miss" any opportunities. They also had 4 defensive PI, almost all of which stopping big plays.

Like you said, will find out a lot against Florida. Believe they will be up for this one compared to Tech.

It was the 6. LSU ran the same offense against Clemson, from the same spot, and it worked.

Tech did a good job against the tight formation. They cut the OL every time, which completely eliminates any "push" opportunity. LSU is setting that formation up to throw the ball. Possibly this weekend.

We will be fine.

IF we win every game, we’re national champions.
Game “X” is a lot better if we throw better, don’t miss field goals, don’t turn the ball over, don’t drop sure int’s, run block better, pass block better, take advantage of possessions.
We’ve all watched enough football to not have to resort to what ifs. You either do or you don’t. We didn’t.

100% correct. If you're center is constantly pushed into the backfield, hard to run and even harder to maintain a pocket. Got to be better there.
