Hispanics and their love of heavy fragrances

Why is this? Recently there have been a group of Hispanics that have been coming to my gym. I'm not kidding you when you when I say you can smell them from 50 ft away. Not body odor but either their clothes or some kind of body spray.
When I googled it, I found out I wasn't the only one who encountered this. Lots of people reported this about their Hispanic coworkers. Apparently Hispanics have a known love for heavily scented laundry detergents, fabric softeners, and laundry additives. And they use about 5x the recommended amount. A few people said it's worse if you go to their home. They douse their whole house in a very heavily fragranced product called Fabuloso.
How can they stand this? The only thing I can come up with is that the constant exposure to these awful chemicals have fried their nasal passage and sinuses.
I only use powdered Tide and always use the second rinse option. It's ok to smell like nothing.

You're acting like I'm the only one who has made this observation. There are multiple Reddit threads discussing it when I googled it. And not just people in tbe US that have noticed.

It's a look at me kind of thing especially among Mexicans. They're well known with the Americas that they are the biggest latino douches ever.
