Different players. D. White was great. HP proving to be great.

White is a better LB. But they are different.

Uhhh Devin White was #5 overall draft pick

They don't even play the same position

Watching HPJ run down backs and blitzing Saturday reminded me of Devon. I see similarities even though yes, they lined up in different positions. Both are freaks.

Right. The valid question would be Whit Weeks or D. White, but I don’t see Whit running a 4.4

Two different players and positions.

Devin was a Mack truck and probably faster.

Devin White played Mike Linebacker and crushed skulls from sideline to sideline.

Devin white had multiple very good to amazing seasons. Perkins has had a good half of a season his freshman year.

D White and it ain’t close

Harold Perkins would have to have a first team All-American season to be in that discussion. Athletically, they are in the same discussion but performance based it is easily Devin White.

You are right. Being a missile on the field is a common trait for college LBs that will be high NFL draft picks.
Whit Weeks has the same characteristics. Maybe an 1/16 of a step slower than HP but still has those missile like qualities you like to see in the LB position.

Totally different skill sets, but both have major impact on games. If you want a thumper in the middle of your defense that can range sideline to sideline as well as anyone and be your best leader, White is your guy. His NFL career flaming out is a bit perplexing. Perk is an explosive athlete that gets to full speed in 1 step. He doesn’t have the consistency that Devin had, but when Perk is on, he can do just about anything and be elite at it.

as a well rounded do all things well LB D White has this one.. Perkins has a ways to go to match Whites ability to stop the run between the tackles for starters....

Man, Honky Badger had a play on Saturday where Klubnik was trying to take a draw up the middle. Whit sniffed it out and slipped the guard and blew it up at the los. It was impressive.
There were multiple plays from Perk where I said out loud, “Perk is a monster.” If he keeps it up for an entire season, he’s an AA and we’re saying him and White are a wash impact-wise.

White was more versatile, but Perkins can frick up an offensive game plan almost single-handedly when he’s in that zone. Honey Badger is just about the only other player I’ve seen with that kind of game-wrecking capacity that an offense can’t scheme around easily.
That doesn’t necessarily mean they are always the better player, but they are absolute weapons when used properly.

He does, but he’s made strides there. He sniffed out a run, shot the gap and made a nice tackle for loss in the first quarter. It made me smile, because that used to be a weakness for Perkins.
