Guns in DC

Curious what the PT's feelings are on the DC gun confiscation efforts. Read they've now confiscated nearly 400 guns (DC is strictly no open carry, requires permitting for concealed weapons, and all weapons must be registered with the DCPD). From what I've read, these aren't all felons walking around with weapons and having them confiscated, this is anyone not following the letter of the law when it comes to firearms. Even odder, this administration (Pam Bondi) is touting these numbers as a sign of crime reduction...which is, ah, interesting given this admin's stance on the 2nd amendment.
I saw where some gun rights groups are raising concerns with both the strategy and messaging around this. Wondering if y'all are feeling the same.

Considering your very strange posting history I question anything you typed is accurate

Sounds unconstitutional

It was asked last week and iirc it was Pierro (spell?) that stated all the guns taken were from felons or stolen guns.

The law is pretty clear, you can’t have a gun in DC with a permit.

It’s their laws. Follow the laws.
How is this even a question?
Is everything with yall how to break the law? It’s so confusing. They have strict no gun laws so you can’t carry. Don’t like it move.

Policies enacted by democrat leadership in DC, not Trump. Just to keep it honest

Oh, no doubt.
It never even crossed my mind that this would be at all controversial until I saw that some gun rights folks are not happy with the admin. Came to the most MAGA place I know to learn if that's more of a mainstream view or just some gun dudes bitching to bitch. Sounds like the latter.

Their laws, much like those in Cali, Chicago, etc are unconstitutional

Who’s saying this because I’m not seeing it? He stated other day he’s supports further expansion of concealed firearms in DC

My best friend in HS back in 1963 spent a summer as a congressional page in DC. He brought back a 22 semi-automatic pistol he had legally bought there.
We had a lot fun with that thing.

As another poster commented, all laws must be followed. I don't agree with that one but allowing laws to be broken only gives cops/judges the leeway to choose which ones to enforce.
Enforce them all, let the voters push to change the ones they do not like.

Here is an example from a local station in FL speaking with a dude from Gun Owners of America.

Please tell me you didn’t move your Georgia liberalism to Florida.

The Trump administration's federal crackdown on crime in Washington, D.C., has led to the seizure of approximately 150 illegal firearms since President Trump declared a crime emergency in the capital nearly three weeks ago.
So now you freaks are pro illegal firearms?

Because you're weak?
I don't give a frick what any of y'all think of me...I come to TD to hang out and shoot the shite. There are plenty of great posters here without me having to play games with, or worry about, the ones who still use an innocuous comment I made as some sort of "gotcha". I haven't even deleted that post lol...why would I?
