Anyone know of a place that has 2x4x20' treated boards in Baton Rouge area? No go at Lowes, HD, 84lumber, Service Lumber, Holmes...

Yeah I had seen that Stines has them. Was looking for something a little closer. Guess I can just tow my boat trailer there and just strap them on.

2x8 and rip it half? Sometimes it works other times a large knot is in wrong spot and makes for two weak boards.

Livonia Lumber will have them. Or Fontaines (formerly West Side ) in Port Allen. Or Fontaines in New Roads.

Just about any yellow pine pressure treated 4X4X20 is going to be badly twisted, cupped, checked and warped. The way they mill SYP for PT Lumber pretty much guarantees it is all going to look like part of a boat keep sooner than later. 4X4s in particular....almost every one of them has the pith in or worse yet near the center....there is virtually no way it is not going to dry badly...if they'd mill a 1X out of the heart and toss it the resulting lumber would be about as stable as lumber gets but a 20 inch pine tree will produce 2 semi decent 4X4 and one horrible one....and most of the horrible ones are intentionally sent to the PT Mill.....
