Is it time to retire the term "SEC defense"?

I think it's about time to end this theory that SEC defenses are far superior to other conferences.

This was absolutely a thing for I would say about a decade from 2003-2013ish, when SEC defense just had more difference makers on the DL primarily that other schools didn't have. But in the last decade, and especially the last 5 years, they are no different than other teams DLs who are good teams.

I heard it during the VT/USCe game early and I heard it yesterday in the Bama/FSU game

Nowadays the only way to play defense is to tackle the guy after he scores a touchdown and hope he tries to switch the ball to his other hand while falling out of bounds.

OSU usually has a ton of talent on their defense. So yeah, they can be considered an SEC level d

It should have been retired years ago. Even 2019 lsu, one of the goats, had a mediocre defense

Conferences have become too unwieldy in size to make any kind of bold proclamation about the whole, imo.

That said, the SEC - followed closely by the Big 10 - have the most good players, individual units, etc.

LSU looked like a championship defense last night.

Bama looked like a Big 12 defense. Soft as baby shite.

Conference pride is the gayest thing ever. I hope everyone in the conference sucks and dies in a fire.

Do winners of the Super Bowl, NBA Finals, or MLB care or brag about how tough their conference is?

Why do college football fans do this?

You play in a 2 team conference. We don't care what you think.

When other conferences can catch up, then maybe we will. Definitely hasn’t happened yet.
