I'm running a Polaris and seriously considering the Kawasaki Ridge with HVAC. Smoother running 4 cylinder engine and remarkably less expensive.

I have had very good luck with my Polaris over the last 6 years. Only 1 repair of an axle bearing.

Bought a northstar today. Makes my third ranger purchase.

I do wish the AC was a little colder, but it's all plastic.

I think with an hour or two of sealing and adding a few foam panels here and there it would be perfect.

The canam does have a colder AC. I wouldn't piss on it if it was on fire. There are now three hvac canams sotting in the camp shed that don't run or run just long enough to strand you in the woods

Canam if u have heavy mud…rangers are fine if not.

Having had this thing for a little longer now, I can comment on a few annoying items.

The defrost vents don't seal perfectly and can make the windshield a bit foggy.

It's a bit loud and the center tunnel gets warm under heavy load.

The rear cab corners are poorly sealed.

The cup holders get warm.

Easy fix:

Get 2 boxes of 397 mil closed sell foil backed foam on amazon. A roll of metal AC tape. A silicone sheet. And a single roll of fiberglass foil backed insulation. Use the closed cell foam to cover the back sides of the transmission tunnel. And the center piece where the cupholders are. 8 push pins to remove. Place a closed cell sheet to the inside of the cubby right behind your legs. And on the panel under the passenger seat. Coat the backside of the drop in storage containers with the foam as well. Do the same for under the rear seats. Lift the rear bed, there are 8ish screws and two clips holding the rear plastic panel on the cab. Remove screws. Slide in a piece of the fiber glass insulatoon. Reinstall panel. Make a silicone burrito out of the sheet and put in a small amount of the fiber glass fill. Shove each into the rear cab corners by the rear passenger seats.

Done.

Unit is quieter and AC gets pretty cold. Even without it tinted.

When I install the overhead light Im probably going to foal bubble wrap the roof. Closed cell seems overkill for that.

Whole project took about two hours

I haven't noticed mine getting very hot inside. The ac could be a little colder, but it's been fine even in the dead heat of summer. I will say tinting the windows was a game changer. Don't get the polaris brand bumper lights. They are garbage.
