Nobody can figure out how Marlo is disappearing the bodies, yet there are vacant houses everywhere. I mean Dookie figured it out but no one else could for how long?

ETA: I wrote Omar instead of Marlo and confused everyone because I’m incredibly stupid. Sorry everyone

I don’t understand your post.

I understand how they’re doing it, that scene you posted lays it out for us exactly. What I’m saying is that nobody on the show could figure it out for the whole season when if you think about it, it seems fairly obvious.

I am unaware that anyone thought it was Omar.

The kids knew it was Chris and Snoop but thought they were turning them into zombies.

The cops didn't know about the bodies but were perplexed at how Marlo was expanding without dropping bodies.

The drug game at large seems to be oblivious to the murders since that had to shift to killing the NYC boys on the corners and leaving them to make a statement since them just disappearing could be chalked up to them dipping back to NYC.

Are you being intentionally obtuse?

Obviously Chris and Snoop are the muscle doing the killing but they’re working for Marlo.

The cops know Marlo can’t be holding all those corners without dropping bodies but nobody thought to check the vacants. I don’t think anybody actually thought Marlo was killing people.

Maybe I am confused. You said this:

WTF does Omar have to do with it?

Wait actually I am an actual slow person.

I’m thinking Marlo and typing Omar

Sorry man, I’m just a straight fricking idiot

No worries!

I thought you just typed the wrong name the first time but then when you came back maybe I had missed someone or some group that did think it was Omar.

There is probably a term for it but I find once I type a mistake like that when I glance back at it my brain fills in the correct word even though is I would have thought about it for a millisecond I would have realized the error. Not too long ago I typed Keith Richards when I meant Mick Jagger and as the DVs built up for the life of me I couldn't figure out why.

This is exactly what just happened to me

I love The Wire. You should check out THE CORNER. It was THE WIRE before The Wire was a thing. Who shot Snot?

One of the themes of the show was the disconnect between the streets and the police patrolling them. The politicians and police hierarchy were totally clueless to the extent of the organized crime until a judge forces them to take a hard look at the issue (that first murder of a security guard) and form the squad. Another thing they may have thought was how stupid it would be to store murdered bodies in an abandoned house. Eventually someone is going to find them and the transportation and entombment would likely cause forensic evidence to be left behind. That's why the Italian mob would totally get rid of bodies that would never be found unless they wanted to send a message.

Not in season 4, almost every episode there is a cop commenting about how Marlo has to be dropping bodies somewhere. I mean they’re looking for Lex the whole season and nobody ever thought to check the vacants until Lester finally goes out there to look?

I guess the whole season does take place in one school year so maybe taking 6-9 months to figure it out isn’t that much time, although I wonder how long he’d been doing it.

Lester is the only one that cares enough to be looking for it

The rest of the department is happy to not have the extra murders

This. There's a whole legitimate angle there of not wanting "bodies" on the role that will be unsolved.
