Shelter in place at LSUA due to possible shooting

Louisiana State University of Alexandria (LSUA) has issued a shelter-in-place alert following reports of a possible shooting on campus.
According to an emergency message sent to students, individuals at The Oaks residence hall have been instructed to shelter in place until an “all clear” is given.
Law enforcement from multiple jurisdictions, along with fire and EMS, remain on scene. Tactical units with AR-style rifles have been observed near the campus entrance.
Authorities have not yet confirmed any injuries or suspect details. Students, faculty, and staff are urged to remain indoors and follow official instructions until further notice.
This is a developing story. UrbanCast will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available.

If you live in or around Ellick I can see the logic of going someplace convenient. It's hard to grasp the logic of going away to school and choosing LSUA.
It's not even in the city proper. It's about 15 miles south of there in the middle of a big cotton field.

This and folks that live a little too far to want to drive. That school pulls from grant parish etc. which would be over an hour drive.

These "shelter in place orders" always crack me up.
There is no way in hell I am going to stay in place with someone on the loose with a firearm looking to do harm. I am not sticking around to find out what happens next. I am a ghost.

The vast majority of their soccer players (both men & women) & women's tennis members are internationals
And plenty of out of state athletes on their other teams
