How do people still frick up the “this Monday” and “next Monday” thing?

This Monday is the closest Monday, whether it’s tomorrow or whether it’s 6 days out.The closest one FFS.
Next Monday is always the Monday after this Monday, no matter how far out.
This is not rocket appliances.

I don't think anyone messes it up. It's just a dumb way to refer to the days.
I say this Monday for whatever monday is coming up. And I say next Monday for the one after that. But i recognize that its conventions are fricking retarded.

They mean the same thing to me, but I also don't particularly care much. Adding a date to a promise will always clear up any confusion.

Is it not just relative to the current week (Sun-Sat)? i.e. this Monday = current week, next Monday = following week.

Well, you have to establish a point to designate "this" vs "next", which means "next" should always follow "this", hence why "this" refers to the current week you are in.
Regardless, the English language is full of ambiguties. I mean it's bullshite that bi-weekly can mean twice a week or every other week. This isn't much different imo.

Bimonthly can mean either twice a month or every two months. I prefer to get paid on the former.
