I did an analysis based on how many times in the past each SEC team has faced another.

This is not necessarily what should happen, but it does give a good indication of rivalries. Don't shoot the messenger. I simply accumulated the data:

Alabama : Mississippi St. Tennessee Auburn
Arkansas: Texas Texas A&M S. Carolina
Auburn: Georgia Alabama Florida
Florida: Georgia Auburn LSU
Georgia: Auburn Florida Kentucky
Kentucky: Vanderbilt Georgia Tennessee
LSU: Mississippi St. Ole Miss Florida
Ole Miss: Mississippi St. LSU Vanderbilt
Mississippi St.: LSU Ole Miss Alabama
Missouri: Oklahoma Texas A&M S. Carolina
Oklahoma: Texas Missouri S. Carolina
S. Carolina: Arkansas Missouri Oklahoma
Tennessee: Vanderbilt Alabama Kentucky
Texas: Oklahoma Arkansas Texas A&M
Texas A&M: Texas Arkansas Missouri
Vanderbilt: Tennessee Ole Miss Kentucky

I wonder if there should be some consideration to the winning percentages of the match ups.

I know we've played Mississippi State more than anyone else, but I like playing Auburn more than them.

Though my preference would be to go back to 12 teams with two divisions. Kick out the Big 12 teams.

Interesting that Alabama had played Mississippi State more than LSU.

According to the all-time series chart, apparently LSU-Alabama wasn't an annual rivalry until 1964. They had a large break from 1931 to '43, and then a few pockets of missing years after that.

Apparently, Alabama was so shook up by LSU beating it in the 1958 national title season that they didn't play for the next 5 years (I kid, I kid).

Last year was the first time since 1947 Alabama and Mississippi State didn't play.

Tuscaloosa to Starkville is only 84 miles so that probably also explains why it was an annual series for so long, although most of State's home games in the series from the mid-'60s into the '90s were in Jackson.

Auburn gets clobbered in this scenario having to play Georgia, Alabama and Florida.

Oh well

I wonder if they will try to keep the cross division rivalry that existed before they did away with divisions...eg, LSU vs Florida.

Kentucky had Miss State...
South Carolina had Arkansas
Texas A&M had Mizzou
Vandy had Ole Miss
and so on...

Bama- LSU Tenneessee Auburn
Auburn- Georgia OU Bama
Arky- Mizzou Texas LSU

Georgia- Auburn Florida S Carolina
Kentucky- Miss ST Vandy Ole Miss
Miss ST- Kentucky Ole Miss Vandy
Mizzou- Arky S Carolina. OU
OU- Texas Auburn Mizzou
Ole Miss- Texas A&M Miss ST Kentucky
S Carolina- Florida Mizzou Georgia
Tenneesse- Vandy Bama Florida
Texas- OU Arky Texas A&M
Texas A&M- Ole Miss LSU Texas
Vandy- Tenneessee Kentucky Miss ST

They’ll be fine. They’ve somehow managed to win 9 national championships.

Would rather play our old sec rivals than play A&M every year.

If we have to play a Texas school I would rather play Texas every season. Just a bigger game that will turn into a much bigger rivalry.

There is no way we don’t get one of the Mississippi schools.

If I had to guess, I think LSU gets Ole Miss, Arkansas and either Bama or aTm

Interesting but you gotta figure in final rivalry weekend too.

This leaves out LSU/Arky with no one to play.

Bc the SEC already addressed it in the past with LSU/OU/Arkansas/Missouri.

They want every team playing rivalries/meaningful matchups that weekend.

LSU and Bama should play each other because it gets the highest ratings every year and it's all about the Benjamins for the SEC. HOWEVER, that would give Bama Auburn, Tenn and LSU as its three opponents and the REC will not allow old Gump U to be screwed like that. Bama will get AU, TN and Vandy.

The next logical choice is LSU-Florida but UF would have UGA, TN and LSU not sure if Jort U would stand for it.

I think LSU will get Old Missy, aTm and the Pigs.
