Pretty sure it was also a message of “don’t make the mistakes I made”. Sometimes hearing from a guy who sailed through without struggling isn’t what resonates…maybe one guy in a room might relate to that.
Most of the room needs to hear “Here are the mistakes I made that made my road more difficult than it should have been.” Leaf has had law troubles and drug issues. Guess what…so have our players.

Leaf is actually a pretty good turnaround story. He seems like a pretty good guy now. He owns his mistakes and uses them as examples in his motivational speaking gigs.
