So, Skenes uses realtime pitch metrics displayed on the stadium scoreboard to get feedback on which pitches are working. All that physical talent and still using every tool to get an edge. Guy is just different!

Yes, Skenes is different. He'll go down as the greatest pitcher in this generation.
That said, I'm sure 99% of the pitchers in the majors use these same metrics when they're on the bump. You don't get to that level in today's game without understanding them.

It's wild that he only threw 2 sliders yesterday, when that was his primary breaking ball while here.
Every now and then he'd throw a sweeper or sinker (didn't have the splinker yet) and those were unhittable. Would've been funny to see him have that full arsenal while here.

Guy is unreal. We've really been spoiled to have Skenes, Burrow, and Daniels in just a 6 year period.

Skenes is a total package
physical stuff is obvious
nerves are obvious
but he has the mind for it. He clearly doesn’t care about much besides baseball and banging Livvy Dunn.
there are a few guy who talk and
they just blow you away with their knowledge of the game and every little thing that goes into it.
Derek Curiel is another one. That dude is just so aware of every
aspect of his swing.

We will never see another pitcher like him in our lifetime. Still amazes me how good and consistent he was for an entire College season and now tearing it up in the MLB just 1 of a kind talent and competitor. I just hope he can stay healthy and start to get talent around him so he can actually win.
