Should I fertilize before or after overseeing?

Getting ready to bring my grass down this weekend and then do a pass of aerating and dethatching to prep for overseeing next weekend. Temps are coming down to 60-80.
Should I fertilize first, or after? I’ve seen suggestions both ways.
Once the seed is stable enough I want to put down a fall pre emergent to handle any cold weather weeds. Especially since this is my first year with the house.

I would say after but I’m not an expert. The few times i overseed I didn’t do shite and it looked good.

Make sure this won’t affect the overseed.
What are you using to overseed and what are you overseeing over?

I would think if you fertilized closely around the time you seeded, you might get fertilizer burn.
I would think that the “new lawn fertilizer” blends would be less likely to do so, it is a legitimate concern

I was thinking of fertilizing 2 weeks after seeding.

you can wait. The seed has all the food it needs to get going and fully germinate. It is a waste of nitrogen to put it down before the grass can use it.
