2019 - Georgia Southern
2014 - Wisconsin
2013 - TCU
2008 - App St.
2007 - Miss. State
2003 - UL-Monroe
Let's add Clemson to that list and break the losing streak on openers!

One of the weirdest and hottest game day experiences of all time. I even remember there being a flyover that wasn’t during the national anthem and kickoff was at 10 AM because of the hurricane coming. Overall just strange.

I got stuck in Baton Rouge and couldn't get home because of the storm.

It really was and 100% the hottest game I've ever attended. Everyone had horrible sun burns the following week.

OK, am I the only one a little stoked by the fact that all three of our title runs in the 2000s started with an August game?
I vividly remember that 2007 Miss. State game. First, it was weird to have a conference opponent in our first game. Second, I remember we won something like 45-0 or the like, and yet, our offense didn't do much in that game. I believe Steltz had 3 picks in that one.

Three of those had Senior QBs who led their respective teams to a national championship that year.

I thought that odd too although my first semester at LSU was fall of 1981. We kicked off the season with Alabama first game. I remember walking by the stadium and seeing the CBS Sports trucks lined up outside Tiger Stadium and thought this college thing is going to be pretty cool.

I remember Brandon Lafell earholing the frick out of a DB on a block that would be illegal as hell today.

We attended that game as well. If we could’ve sold them after the time changed to 10 am because of hurricane then we wouldn’t have went but nobody wanted them. By far the hottest and most miserable game I’ve ever attended.

Did some research and find out the last 2 times LSU had 7 top 25 preseason teams to play. We went to the title game both times! 2011 and 2019
